OneTouchCards™ began with a simple idea: create a business card that people actually keep. The first product was the RFID/NFC blocking card - a physical card that protects credit cards from thieves using scanning devices. Because the card must be kept next to credit cards to function, customers keep it in their wallet, creating daily brand impressions. When the card user looks for a credit card or their driver’s license, they see the card creating an "impression". The more impressions the card gives, the more the card giver's name is impressed into the subconscious of the card owner.
This created a breakthrough: A business card that stays in a wallet and is seen every day! Each time a card was given to a prospect, the giver explained the story: The card must be kept next to credit cards to block thieves using scanning devices. Once the story is told, the recipient understands the protection the card offers and keeps the card permanently in their wallet or purses. GATEWAY MULTI-LINK CARD
The second developed card was named the GATEWAY MULTI-LINK CARD
The Gateway Multi-Link smart business card that uses NFC technology to instantly open a single, stored URL on a customer’s phone. No apps, no downloads - just tap to scan. The card uses HF, RFID inductive coupling, the same principle behind Apple Pay and tap to pay systems. Smartphones constantly emit a small NFC (Near Field Communication) field, always searching for nearby devices to communicate with. When this field comes into contact with the chip inside a OneTouchCards “Gateway Multi-Link” card, the field “handshakes” with the smartphone. Once powered, the chip communicates with the phone and transmits the single URL address (or other stored information) to it. When the user presses the link, the phone will take the user to the address of the embedded website in the card.
Because the microprocessors inside the cards are passive, they do not require a battery or an external power source. They operate entirely from the energy induced by the phone’s NFC field. This makes OneTouchCards durable, maintenance free, and capable of lasting for years. The chip inside the Gateway Multi-Link card can be rewritten to a different address or permanently locked for security purposes.
GATEWAY MULTI-LINK CARD – ROUTING ENGINE
The Gateway Multi-Link Card initiates the transfer of a single URL to the recipient's phone. Sometimes a single URL, a single choice, is not enough for the provider of the card, they may want to give the owner of the phone access to multiple URLs, which cannot be provided by a single card.
In cases such as these a multiple-choice routing software must be provided.
We can provide this feature as an extension to the Gateway Multi-Link card. Our system allows the construction of a menu-driven palette of choices created by OneTouchCards™ in consultation with the company ordering the cards. This multiple-choice software can be easily updated to link to new URLs.
